The Flood Warning continues for
the Pecatonica River at Martintown.
* At 8:30 PM Friday the stage was 13.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 20.8 feet by
Monday evening. The river will fall below flood stage Friday
morning.
* Impact... at 21.0 feet... this level is the 10 percent chance flood
meaning there is a 10 percent chance in any given year of the river
reaching this level. Martintown Road and West River Road in the
Martintown area are flooded. Highway mm and west indies Road
upstream in Browntown are flooded. Highway 73 about 1 mile
downstream in Winslow Illinois is flooded.

The Flood Warning continues for
the sugar river at Brodhead.
* At 8:15 PM Friday the stage was 5.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 5.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 9.9 feet by
Sunday early afternoon. The river will fall below flood stage late
Thursday morning.
* Impact... at 9.1 feet... this level is the 20 percent chance flood
meaning that there is a 20 percent chance in any given year of the
river reaching this level. There is widespread flooding of lowland
and agricultural land in the Brodhead area. Floodwaters cover roads
about 6 miles downstream in Avon township of Rock County. In the
Avon bottoms area of Rock County, there is flooding in sugar River
Park. Floodwaters are over Highway T in Rock County.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of south central Wisconsin and southeast Wisconsin,
including the following areas, in south central Wisconsin,
Columbia, Dane, green, Iowa, Lafayette, rock, and Sauk. In
southeast Wisconsin, Dodge, Jefferson, Kenosha, Milwaukee,
Racine, Walworth, and Waukesha.

* Through Saturday morning

* heavy rainfall of 1 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts
possible.

* Impacts could include flooded roads and intersections, river
flooding, and possible rock and mud slides in hilly terrain.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

Those outside, including campers and hikers, should avoid low
ground and areas along rivers and streams, where rapid water
rises could occur. Be especially cautious at night, when flash
flooding is difficult to see.
