The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
the Carlton and Cougar complex burn scars in south central
Okanogan County in northeast Washington...

* until 400 PM PDT

* at 1255 PM PDT... Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain on the southwestern edge of the cartlton complex burn
scar. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Twisp... foggy dew campground... crater creek campground and Carlton.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

The affected areas are the Cougar complex fire burn scars between the
Okanogan and Methow rivers. High intensity rainfall on the burned
areas may cause dangerous flash flooding and debris flows. Residents
and motorists in and below the Cougar complex fire burn scar in the
Methow and Okanogan valleys... including motorists on State Highway
20 between Twisp and the Okanogan river... and State Highway 153
from Carlton to Winthrop... should take immediate precautions to
protect life and property.

The affected areas are the Carlton complex fire burn scars above the
Methow River Valley. High intensity rainfall on the burned areas may
cause dangerous flash flooding and debris flows. Residents and
motorists in and below the Carlton complex fire burn scar in the
Methow Valley and State Highway 153 from Pateros to Twisp... should
take immediate precautions to protect life and property.

Heavy rain m0.50 inch, reported by trained spotter.


            Spotter reported 0.50 inch rain in 10 min with
            thunderstorm. 4-6 inches of mud reported on Entiat river
            Rd at mile marker 11 and 12.
