Coastal Flood Advisory

... Coastal flood advisory in effect from 6 PM to 8 PM EDT this
evening...

The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a coastal
flood advisory, which is in effect from 6 PM to 8 PM EDT this
evening.

* Locations... low-lying coastal areas of Charleston, Beaufort,
and Colleton counties including downtown Charleston.

* Tide levels... peaking between 7.2 and 7.4 feet mean lower low
water, or between 1.4 and 1.6 feet mean higher high water.

* Timing... high tide will occur around 7:05 PM today at
Charleston. Shallow saltwater flooding will be possible 1 to 2
hours before and after high tide.

* Coastal flood impacts... inundation of saltwater in coastal
areas could result in some roads becoming impassable and minor
flooding of properties.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be prepared for the possibility of impassable roads and minor
flooding of properties. If travel is necessary, do not attempt to
drive through water of unknown depth.
