* flood advisory for...
northern Franklin County in southeastern Indiana...
Union County in east central Indiana...
southern Fayette County in east central Indiana...
southern Preble County in west central Ohio...
northern Butler County in southwestern Ohio...
northwestern Warren County in southwestern Ohio...
southern Montgomery County in west central Ohio...

* until 1115 am EDT.

* At 915 am EDT, radar indicated an area of heavy rain moving slowly
across the area. Rainfall rates from 1 to 2 inches per hour are
likely in the advisory area, and this could lead to runoff issues
especially for small streams and urban areas.

* Minor flooding of low-lying and poorly drained streets, highways
and underpasses will occur. In addition, farmland near creeks,
streams and drainage ditches will experience minor flooding.

Some locations that will experience minor flooding include...
Dayton, Kettering, Middletown, Trotwood, Oxford, Miamisburg,
Springboro, Connersville, Franklin, Eaton, Moraine, Carlisle,
Oakwood, West Carrollton, Liberty, Camden, West Alexandria, Gratis,
West College Corner and Glenwood.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio, including the
following areas, in Indiana, Dearborn, Fayette in, Franklin
in, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, Union in, and Wayne. In
Kentucky, Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant,
Kenton, Lewis, Mason, Owen, Pendleton, and Robertson. In Ohio,
Adams, Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton,
Darke, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette OH, Franklin OH, Greene,
Hamilton, Highland, Hocking, Licking, Logan, Madison, Miami,
Montgomery, Pickaway, Pike, Preble, Ross, Scioto, Shelby,
Union OH, and Warren.

* Through late tonight

* a band of showers and thunderstorms will develop this morning,
then it will slowly sag southeast during the afternoon. A
widespread one to three inches of rain is expected today.
Isolated totals of three to four inches will be possible.
Showers and thunderstorms will come to an end late Friday
night.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

People in the watch area should keep an eye on the weather and be
prepared for immediate action should heavy rains and flooding
occur or a Flash Flood Warning be issued. Avoid low-lying areas,
and be careful when approaching Highway dips and underpasses.
