343 PM EST Mon Nov 24 2014

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has extended the

* Flood Warning for urban areas and small streams in...
northwestern Cattaraugus County in western New York...
northern Chautauqua County in western New York...
this includes Dunkirk... Fredonia...
Erie County in western New York...
this includes West Seneca... Lancaster... Lackawanna... Hamburg... East
Aurora... Depew... Cheektowaga... Buffalo...
southern Genesee County in western New York...
this includes Batavia...
Wyoming County in western New York...

* until 415 PM EST Tuesday

* at 333 PM EST... very warm temperatures continue to promote
rapid snowmelt in areas hard hit by lake effect snow last week.
The rapid snowmelt will continue into this evening before
cooling temperatures overnight slow the melting process. Excessive
runoff from snowmelt and some limited rainfall will continue to
support high water on small streams and creeks through tonight
and Tuesday.

* High water in small streams and creeks will continue to produce a
risk for minor flooding tonight through Tuesday. Minor urban
flooding is also likely in low lying and poor drainage areas
especially where snow and leaves have clogged storm drains.

Residents near creeks are urged to take precautions to prepare for
possible flooding now... including moving items from basements. In
addition... strong winds expected tonight may result in scattered
power outages which will turn off sump pumps that do not have backup
systems.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected.
However... all interested parties should take necessary precautions
immediately.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams... and ponding of water in urban areas...
highways... streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage
areas and low lying spots.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams... and ponding of water on country roads and
farmland along the banks of creeks and streams.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

Lakeshore Flood Advisory

Statement as of 6:28 PM EST on November 24, 2014

Expires 1:00 AM EST on November 25, 2014

... Lakeshore Flood Advisory remains in effect until 1 am EST
Tuesday...

* locations... Lake Erie shore of Chautauqua and Erie counties.

* Lake Shore flooding... strong southwest winds will cause Lake
Erie water levels to rise sharply. Water levels are expected
to rise to near 6 feet above low water datum.

* Timing... through 1 am Tuesday.

* Impacts... minor Lakeshore flooding is possible... mainly in lower
areas along the shore and in bays and harbors. The combination
of high water levels and high wave action will cause water to
spray across Route 5 in Athol Springs.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Lakeshore Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds will
generate minor flooding of low areas along the Lakeshore.

High Wind Warning

Statement as of 5:34 PM EST on November 24, 2014

Expires 4:00 AM EST on November 25, 2014

... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 4 am EST Tuesday...

* locations... Niagara... Orleans... Genesee... Monroe... Wyoming and
northern Erie counties.

* Timing... through late tonight.

* Winds... southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.

* Impacts... winds of this magnitude could bring down some trees
and power lines resulting in scattered power outages. Due to the
recent melting of the past weeks heavy snow... an unfrozen...
saturated ground will make it easier for some trees to be
toppled... especially shallow rooted pines. These winds will also
make difficult travel for high profile vehicles. In addition...
Holiday decorations could be damaged and other loose outdoor
items such as trash cans could be blown away.

Power outages could also exacerbate flooding concerns for those
with flooded basements as sump pumps would not work without an
emergency... generator power supply.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning is issued when sustained winds of 40 mph are
expected for at least an hour... with gusts of 58 mph or greater
at any time. Damage to trees... power lines... and property are
possible with wind of this magnitude. If you have a high profile
vehicles be extra careful until the wind subsides. Stay tuned to
weather radio or other radio and TV stations for further details
or updates.
