... Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Tuesday morning
through Wednesday afternoon...

* locations... northern Maine.

* Hazard types... hazardous wind chills tonight into Monday
morning. Snow Tuesday into Wednesday.

* Wind chill readings... 25 to 30 below.

* Timing... Tuesday morning into Wednesday.

* Impacts... snow... possibly heavy at times... will likely result
in hazardous travel conditions Tuesday into Wednesday. Areas
of blowing snow will result in reduced visibility at times.

* Winds... north 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 7 or more inches possible
Tuesday into Wednesday.

* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds
will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in
frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.

... Brief heavy snow showers and snow squalls this morning...

Brief heavy snow showers and snow squalls will accompany an Arctic
front crossing the region this morning. Visibilities will be
reduced below a quarter miles at times in the heavier snow squalls
along with wind gusts of 30 to 35 mph. Motorists this morning
should be alert for rapidly changing visibilities and roads which
could quickly become snow covered and slippery. The snow showers
and snow squalls could produce around an inch of snow in a short
time. The snow showers and squalls will effect portions of Route
1 along with Interstate 95 and other roads across the region
through mid morning.
