The Flood Warning continues for
the Calcasieu River near Kinder.
* From Thursday afternoon until further notice... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 8:00 PM Sunday the stage was 13.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is expected to rise to near flood stage
Thursday early afternoon.
* Impact... at stages near 16.0 feet... flooding of wooded areas near
the river will occur.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Mermentau river near Mermentau.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 8:15 PM Sunday the stage was 5.2 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 4.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 5.7 feet by
Tuesday early afternoon then begin falling.
* Impact... at stages near 6.0 feet... flooding of the shipyard
begins. Portions of castex Landing, la 3166, become flooded and
impassable.
* Impact... at stages near 5.5 feet... a few recreational camps and
residences are subject to flooding.
* Impact... at stages near 4.0 feet... minor lowland flooding near the
river will occur.

following areas... in Louisiana... Acadia... Allen... Avoyelles...
Beauregard... Calcasieu... East Cameron... Evangeline... Iberia...
Jefferson Davis... Lafayette... lower St. Martin... Rapides... St.
Landry... St. Mary... upper St. Martin... Vermilion... Vernon and
West Cameron. In southeast Texas... Hardin... Jefferson...
northern Jasper... northern Newton... Orange... southern Jasper...
   southern Newton and Tyler.

* Through this evening

* rainfall amounts of two to four inches is possible in the
watch area... with locally higher amounts.

* Primary impacts will be flash flooding of low lying locations
especially in urban areas with poor drainage or along low
lying rural roads. Flooding of streams... creeks and bayous can
be expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
