The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
northeastern Cameron Parish in southwestern Louisiana...
Jefferson Davis Parish in southwestern Louisiana...
Calcasieu Parish in southwestern Louisiana...
eastern Orange County in southeastern Texas...

* until 1100 PM CDT Sunday

* at 312 PM CDT... Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain falling across the warned area. 4 to 6 inches of rain
has fallen across the past 12 hours... with isolated locations of 6
to 8 inches across Northern Lake Charles to Westlake... and just
east of the Lake Charles Airport to Bell City. This is in addition
to several inches of rain that occurred over the area yesterday.
Flash flooding is already occurring with several roads in the area
flooded. Over portions of Orange County and Calcasieu Parish.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Lake
Charles... Sulphur... Orange... Jennings... Westlake... West Orange...
Welsh... Vinton... Iowa... Lake Arthur... Fenton... Moss Bluff... Lake
Charles Regional Airport... Starks... Lacassine National Wildlife
Refuge... Hayes... Grand Lake... Klondike... Gillis and Buller.

Additional showers and thunderstorms are re-developing
acrosscalcasieu and Jeff Davis parishes... and has the potential of
giving2 to 4 more inches of rainfall this afternoon and evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Please delay travel if possible. There have been reports of cars
flooding out... or the wake from passing motorists causing additional
property damage.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Sabine River near Deweyville.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 9:45 am Sunday the stage was 24.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 24.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 25.3 feet by
early Wednesday morning then begin falling.
* Impact... at stages near 25.0 feet... lowest roads beside the river
flood around Deweyville and subject to being closed. In addition,
low-lying roads in southwest Beauregard Parish are flooded
including Robert Clark Road. Flooding occurs on the south side of
Niblett Bluff park with access roads to Camp houses cut off around
the park. Access roads to the river in northeastern Orange County
become flooded.

* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 9:00 am Sunday the stage was 4.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 4.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 6.0 feet by
Tuesday morning then begin falling.
* Impact... at stages near 6.0 feet... significant flooding of
numerous recreational camps and homes will occur. River Road and
much of Mims Road are impassable.

* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 5:00 am Sunday the stage was 5.4 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 4.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 6.5 feet by early
Wednesday morning then begin falling.
* Impact... at stages near 6.0 feet... goos Ferry Road becomes
impassable.

The Flood Warning continues for
the West Fork of the Calcasieu River at Sam Houston Jones State
Park.
* From Monday evening to late Friday night... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 6:30 am Sunday the stage was 4.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 5.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by tomorrow evening and continue
to rise to near 5.5 feet by Wednesday morning.The river will fall
below flood stage by early Friday morning.
* Impact... at stages near 5.0 feet... low spots on South Perkins
Ferry Road have water on it. Water is over some boat docks on South
Perkins Ferry Road and over boat ramps at Sam Houston Jones State
Park. Extensive Marshland flooding will occur upstream and
downstream from the park.

Jefferson Davis... Lafayette... lower St. Martin... Rapides... St.
Landry... St. Mary... upper St. Martin... Vermilion... Vernon and

* Through Monday evening

* rainfall amounts of two to four inches is possible in the watch
area... with locally higher amounts.

* Primary impacts will be flash flooding of low lying locations
especially in urban areas with poor drainage or along low
lying rural roads. Flooding of streams... creeks and bayous can
be expected.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action

Flood Advisory... which is in effect until 5 PM CDT this
afternoon.

* Coastal flooding... tide levels will range between 3.0 and 3.5
MLLW around astronomical high tide.

* Timing... through this afternoon.

* Impacts... minor flooding with water in low spots on area roads
near Sabine Pass... Cameron... Hackberry... Intracoastal City...
Delcambre... Cypremort Point... Franklin... and Morgan City.

Also... minor flooding with water across roads near Sabine Lake...
Calcasieu Lake and along the lower Calcasieu River south of the
saltwater barrier.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
